The Games of the 29th Olympiad
are concluding Sunday night. Beijing and the athletes of the world will
celebrate a successful Games and the Olympic cauldron will be extinguished. I
love the Olympics and am always so inspired by them. These games have been no
exception. Such amazing magnificence and power has graced this world stage over
the past couple of weeks. The Olympic Games are about the world coming together
peaceably as one. They are about greatness. They are about overcoming fear.
They are about success by habitually doing the things that others do not like to
do. They are about the power of visualization and being fully present in the
moment. Michael Phelps and his record eight Gold medals has done them all
to awe inspiring perfection. So have all of the athletes of the 29th Olympiad.
"Imagine for a moment your own version of a perfect future. See
yourself in that future with everything you could wish for at this very moment
fulfilled. Now take the memory of that future and bring it here into the
present. Let it influence how you will behave from this moment on."
~Deepak Chopra
All the Olympians live their lives as
extraordinary individuals, they are teachers to us all. To even get to play on
the Olympic stage takes extraordinary vision, determination and focus - the
willingness to build habits doing those things that others do not like to do.
They showcase the ability to push past the excuses and persevere no matter what
circumstances they find themselves in. The Olympians have learned to be master
doubt dispellers, masters over their mind chatter, kings and queens of
certainty, champion focusers and driven goal achievers. They are
Olympians. And...they are the potential in each one of us.
"The difference
between successful people and failures is that successful people make a habit of
doing the things that those that fail do not like to do."
~ Brian Tracy
(and others)
On the Olympic stage
we have seen what appears to be triumph, heartbreak, victory and
loss. However, everyone who competes on the world stage of the Olympics is a
winner, triumphant over mind and fear. All have chosen love over fear. All
have attained mastery over their minds. Not sure about the choice of love ?
Pay attention and notice that when they are not competing or at the end of hard
fought event, they are embracing each other, hugging, showing admiration
and respect, even deep love for one another no matter what country they
represent. If you have missed the love, then look... it's there, as sure as the
medal ceremonies and commentators are. It's one of the most beautiful things
about the Olympics.
The Olympic games remind us powerfully that we are
all One interconnected energy. This interconnectedness brings with it a gift
for us well beyond the ability to appreciate the athletic achievements. We are
able to feel as the athletes win and lose, as they stand to accept their medals,
as they pull their teams to victory or just pull through to complete a race in their first
Olympics.
This is the world's most powerful stage.
The more you connect with feelings of absolute joy when the athletes
triumph and be moved
(maybe even to tears) as they accept their medals, the more you
attractive you
become to things that will bring joy to you too.
The more deeply you are filled with appreciative
feelings as they fulfill their dreams before your eyes, the more you put
yourself in the same vibration speeding towards your own dreams fulfilled.
So watch and enjoy the final days of Olympic power, magic, inspiration
and joy and FEEL it all. Allow your heart to burst open with joy and
appreciation when each athlete wins and receives their Gold, Silver and
Bronze medals. Feel the gratitude flow through your body when a
grateful Olympian just manages to finish the race. Watch the closing ceremonies
and allow yourself to be filled to overflowing with feelings of joy and
gratitude. Celebrate the moment with the world's most elite
athletes.
You might just be pleasantly surprised with what manifests
for you in your own life.
"Some people see the way things are and ask why. Other people dream
things that never were and ask why not?"
~ George Bernard

Your job is to not take your life so
seriously. Your job is to play and enjoy. Your desire is like a compass
pointing and aligning you on the journey. Nothing more. Pace yourself, enjoy
the journey and run the best race you can in the moment.
There is nothing more
you need do.
The rest is taken care of.
You have already
won.

I leave you with an excerpt from my friend Stephanie Bell's recent blog
post, she says it quite nicely below:
"Each of you have the power within your hearts, mind and spirit to move
mountains, part oceans, cure the incurable, radiate an energy so magnificent
that no heart or soul can fail to be touched by your love and compassion.
If you choose to believe this as the 100% Truth for you, in this
moment, what will you do? What painful thought will you let go of? Who will you
forgive? What priorities would you re-arrange?
What miracle will you create for yourself and for the world?
You have the Power. You have everything you need. Open your arms to the
heavens, lift your head to the sky and CLAIM IT.
Bask in it. Become
comfortable with your greatness."
