The power of hundreds of thousands talking to each other in 140 characters or less has demonstrated it can change the direction of national ad campaigns, ie. Motrin. The #Motrinmoms on twitter caused something akin to a virtual social riot. And it got results.
This time the same power is being harnessed for powerful good. Epic Change, a 501(c)(3) non profit organizaton, has birthed TweetsGiving.org which launched TweetsGiving, a Twitter celebration of of gratitude and giving.
The goal of TweetsGiving is to raise $10,000 in 48 to build a new classroom in Tanzania. A miracle for the many children there in need. TweetsGiving will be held from Tuesday, 11.25.08 (12pm EST) to Thursday, 11.27.08 (12pm EST)
You are asked to be thankful and share what you are thankful about. We can all do that, can't we?
You are asked to donate a brick or more to build the new classroom. A brick is $10. We can all do that can't we?
I'm seeing one beautiful new school classroom in Tanzania built with stunning bricks filled with gratitude and love!
To participate and make a difference by sharing your gratitude and your heart, please visit TweetsGiving.org. You do not have to be on Twitter to participate and contribute to this miracle. All you need is your heart.
Happy Thanksgiving America!
