The thoughts in your head are merely projections of
your beliefs. They can be like prisons holding you within a world that is not open and
flowing and free. but restricted. small. All too often your mind is not your friend, it is your
prison guard. This very same capacity to think can create new worlds for you if you know how
to use it correctly and escape the prison.
The part of your thinking that creates beautiful
worlds for you is your imagination, it is a beautiful tool. The
way to access this imagination is to let go of all the restrictive or preconceived thoughts that exist in the mind. Now
many of these are beyond your conscious knowing or awareness. So how do you
find them? You notice their side effects. When you are being held captive in the
prison, you will notice you feel contracted inside and you are not feeling joyful (a feeling
from within) and enthusiastic. By noticing whether your mind has
become prison guard or is available as your loving tool you can create things faster in
your world.
An example: If you are imagining
yourself on a lovely beach enjoying a beautiful day in the sun and relaxing on vacation. Now you hold
this image in your mind and feel your self there. Then if you pay attention to your life
and notice, you will see you have not even made one attempt to go to the store and buy
yourself a bathing suit for the beach. Therefore it would be safe to assume that there is
thought or belief creating a prison that you are held within and this prison does not contain
the stores you need to go to for your bathing suit. Here is where you have a choice.
In order to stay feeling comfortable and protected in your prison, you cannot have your
bathing suit, therefore it is unlikely your visualized beach vacation is within your current
prison either.
You have to plan a prison breakout. Now... this is
metaphorically speaking. Your prison is not touchable, yet if you look at your life, it
is very tangible and observable. With regard to the bathing suit prison, the way to break out is
not to go around chanting "I am buying a bathing suit now" "I am so happy I have my
bathing suit now" but to actually blow through the wall of the prison and go find a store with
bathing suits and buy a bathing suit. Now... doing so will likely be very uncomfortable. You
have remained in your comfy prison for a long time and now you must escape it to get what you
desire so you can really get what you desire.
You may find yourself presenting lots of reasons
to yourself (the conscious mind presenting them to the unconscious mind). You should wait
until you lose 20 pounds before buying your suit, you hate
bathing suit shopping, you can always get a bathing suit when you arrive at your vacation destination - they'll cost less, and many more. They are diversions and
distractions off of your main
route.. which is to the store to buy a bathing suit. Thank each diversion as it shows up ("thank you
for showing up" or "thank you for sharing") , notice how thinking and giving the diversion power makes you feel and then get over to the store and buy your bathing
suit. This is referred to often as "pushing through the fear", feel the fear and do it anyway,
let the fear be the energy to break through, and more.
Now you are at the store, watch your mind here and
you'll probably find diversions galore popping up. Be resolute, buy the suit. Bring it
home. Leave it out. Look at it and imagine yourself wearing it on the beach. Allow yourself to
get excited about the beach. You have just let yourself know you are serious and you are
the boss. You are now much closer to your beach vacation and your former prison has
been expanded.
You are the prisons that your mind makes and locks
you into, so in the example above, you have expanded.
